Tourism has changed the face of many cities. It may have been an economic engine, but it has generated unwanted effects and is now unsustainable. This book explores the contradiction between the luxury that high-end hotels sell to their clients and the reality of those who work in them. The result, halfway between anthropological fieldwork, chronicle and essay, shows the most uncomfortable side of tourism and reflects on resting in a post-capitalist future.
