Planeta Lasvi

Planet Lasvi | Siruela, 2024

A moving interstellar story of intrigue and adventure, with a potent message in support of environmental sustainability.

Nela and her grandparents are the only human inhabitants on Lasvi, a small planet that formerly produced an abundance of blue vegetables along with a kind of pointed tuber. There has been no sign of Nela’s parents since they set off on a scientific expedition in search of an age-defying formula. While awaiting their return, the girl looks out of her window, contemplating the birds and the oval-shaped spacecraft, with their humanoid pilots, flying over a large energy lake that was produced by a meteor strike. Fortunately, she has LITO/52, a robot she was given on her tenth birthday, built by her grandmother from pieces of old machines sourced in the abandoned warehouses. LITO/52 is her only playmate.

But then an enormous, strange spacecraft arrives on Lasvi, it’s crew the direct descendants of the last earth-dwelling people, and Nela will then get to meet the twelve-year-old twins Elenita and Jonas and their fourteen-year-old brother Armando. They carry with them the after-shocks of the degradation that led to the destruction of Planet Earth, and the stories they share with Nela will lead her to both discover her own origins and reflect on her existence. At the same time, in a story full of intrigue and new challenges, events unfold on the immense spacecraft that may transform the reality of Planet Lasvi and help resolve the mystery of Nela’s lost parents.
