Ignacio Martínez de Pisón was a child in the Logroño of the sixties, a teenager in the Zaragoza of the seventies, and an aspiring novelist in the Barcelona of the eighties. His boyhood was no different from anyone else’s, and he came from a happy family, until his father’s untimely demise. Those formative years would go on to shape his literary practice.
This is an early portrait of one of Spain’s finest writers, a literary memoir that reflects profound shifts in Spanish society, which in very little time transitioned from stale dictatorship to stalwart European democracy.
