Tomàs and Tomeu Cerc are twin brothers, one is a fan of verbal ingenuity and the other hates word games. Their father, a prestigious philologist, has just died. For years he lived in a flat in the Gothic Quarter reading and correcting texts, with ear plugs in so that he heard nothing.
Twenty years back, Mr. Cerc had packed up all the books in his house and left for good, abandoning his wife and kids. The twins, who were thirteen at the time, never knew why. Now, at thirty-three, their father’s last wishes, and a folder full of stories that Tomeu finds in the flat in the Gothic Quarter may help them to understand it and understand each other.
